My Gender Labels
Captions are below the flags! Clicking some of the icons will bring you to a page that explains the terms.
▲ Trans: A gender that does not line up with one's assigned gender at birth. I am a transgender man, though I'm considering calling myself transsexual.
▲ Transmaverine: A trans experience aligned with maverinity, a quality that is not masculine, feminine, neutral, or null but is still strongly gendered and autonomous. My trans experience feels maverine in nature, not tied to any existing gender quality.
▲ Multigender: Having more than one gender or a gender made up of different parts. Being bigender and demigender makes me multigender.
▲ Bigender: Having two distinct genders. I am both male and asteresque (an aporagender.)
▲ Nonbinary: Any gender that is not entirely male or female. I am a nonbinary man, my bigender identity makes me nonbinary, and asteresque is a nonbinary gender.
▲ Nonbinary man: A gender that is male in a nonbinary way. My malehood is experienced through a nonbinary lens.
▲ Demiboy: Being partially male. My neutral gender creates a partial male experience, though I call it "demiguy."
▲ Neutrois: (No longer used, but still discussed in my videos and essays.) A gender that is not male or female, but neutral or null. For me, it means neutral.
▲ Asteresque: An unaligned neutral gender that is similar to neutrois but is not genderless nor ambiguous. This term is slowly replacing neutrois for me but I'm not entirely out yet.
▲ Aporagender: A gender unrelated to the binary or anything in between but with a strong gendered feeling. My astereseque identity is an aporagender.
▲ Abinary: Genders that are not at all related to the binary of male and female. One of my genders - asteresque - is abinary.
▲ Nonbinarine: A gender quality related to the nonbinary gender experience. I use this specifically to describe my sex.
Note: The trans, aporagender, and nonbinarine flags used here were created by Tumblr user ryanyflags. The multigender flag is by isobug.
Term and Pronoun Boundaries
I do not use terms like AFAB, AMAB, TME, or TMA for myself and prefer not to be asked where I fall under these categories.
Do not call me transmasculine, even though I am a transgender man. I am transmaverine.
Do not assume my alignment. I am not masculine-aligned or neutral-aligned. I am also not male-aligned or aporagender-aligned. I do not have an alignment.
My sex is of a nonbinary quality (nonbinarine.) I am not altersex. My sex is not male or female.
I prefer male-related terminology such as man, guy, sir, etc. Do not attempt to degender me by using neutral language.
I'm neutral on the term "enby" for myself, but I do like enban if you're going to use a nonbinary referential term.
I prefer ey/em/eirs pronouns in online spaces, and he/him/his pronouns in person. I'm tentatively considering ae/aer/aers pronouns, so feel free to try them out on me! I also enjoy e/em/eirs pronouns or any spelling variation of ey/em.
